Ok, so it's summer again, which means that it's time to to reappear on deviantart, or at least try to. My last journal is ancient, and life has moved on a lot since then!

I have just finished my exams which is why I have time to be on here again. I often feel that after I've done exams my desire to do something productive and creative goes through the roof. Don't get me wrong, I love what I'm studying, and some of the best scientists are incredibly creative people, but cramming equations and information into my head since March is potentially one of the most boring things I force myself to do on a yearly basis. I'm someone who thrives on learning new things, and in terms of that, this is certainly the most stagnant time of year.

I've spent a lot of time on deviantart watching other people's art, and finding styles that I like. I'm doing an internship for pretty much all of the summer, but I am definitely going to use what time I have to try and do some creative things. I've actually treated myself to a rather expensive post exam treat - some Letraset promarkers :O . Anybody who has had a look at my gallery will see that I'm chronically afraid of colour, so I've decided that now is the time to fix that, and learn something new. I don't want this money to go to waste!

EDIT: This is of course dependent on my exam induced RSI calming the **** down. Gloomy

Besides, I've got an idea in my head for combining my (limited) artistic output with my love of my subject, so we shall see how it goes.

Hope everybody is enjoying their summers!

Yes, I know it has been nearly a year since I posted here. I'm sorry - nobody reads these anyways! :P

Anyhow, I'm still around, and I'm on summer break, just about to finish my job, so I have a few weeks spare before I go back to university to start third year (eek! Where did all this time go?!) so I figured now was as good a time as any to get back on the wagon. I was at Hyper Japan today and I saw :icondestinyblue: (and bought some of her beautiful artwork to add to my collection). She asked me how my  own art was going (if you can call it that!), and I realised I haven't done any for so long; it's appauling! I enjoyed it when I was doing it last summer, but it's just so time consuming that I convinced myself I didn't have time to do it at university; although, apparently, I had time to watch copious amounts of anime. Either way,  I think I became quicker and improved last summer, so I'd like to take some time this summer to maybe start developing my own style, and have some ideas of my own. I want to try out some different mediums (media?) and see if something sticks better. Hmmmm....I have a lot of origami paper around. Watch this space!

Anyway, thanks to DestinyBlue for motivating me :) Who knows, the blog may even start up again!

Oh man, I know this is very belated but ALCON WAS FRIKING AWESOME! Far too much stuff happened to write it all here, but suffice to say there were very amusing abridgers panels, movies and some very impressive cosplays! Never having been to one of these things before, I was a little overwhelmed to begin with, but I got used to it pretty quick and had a really great time. Thank you to :iconlutra-gem: and :iconquina-chan: for putting up with me. It was awesome awesome fun. I wrote a little more about it on my blog, so if you want to read about it feel free to check that out :)

Finished!

As you can see, I have finished my project :D Perfect! It took me a long time to make these! I think in future I may just make sets by Generation....hardly anyone knows the ones past Gen I anyway! :P Anyways, now that this is done, I'm looking forward to getting back to doing my drawings. They take time too, but not nearly as much, and I can stick them up on my wall afterwards!

In other news, I'm going to Alcon next weekend. Yaaaay! First time cosplaying too :) I'm really looking forward to it. Spent today trying to break in my ridiculous shoes - with little success. I think I'm just going to have to man up and deal with the pain. C'est la vie! It's gonna be totally awesome!

First of all, sorry for taking so long to post the next in the Unintentional Challenge :/ It's just that I'm not a particularly good artist, and these pictures take up a lot of time and effort, and what with work and gym I haven't had the energy to do much recently. Anyway, I'm back on the drawing cart now, so hopefully the wait for the next one shouldn't be so long!

Part of the reason that I've taken so long is that I've been working on another project. Anyone who reads my blog will know that I'm currently in the middle of making a full set of Hama Bead Pokéballs. I'm not quite sure why - I was just overcome with a sudden urge to do it. Unfortunately, I have been limited in my productivity by a sad lack of black beads. This issue has now been rectified so hopefully the set should be finished soon. I'm going to upload a picture of the set when I'm finished :) I also plan to try and make some Pokémon sprites in the future, but that requires more shades than I currently have to do a good job at it, so I need to find the money for that somewhere!

In other news, my copy of Pokémon Conquest arrived the other day. SQUEEEEEEE! I've been super excited for this for a while, just because I think it's a pretty obvious extension for the Pokémon franchise, and who doesn't love Samurai anyway? I haven't got very far at all, again due to a lack of time commitment (I'm currently trying to take over the world with an Eevee, Jigglypuff and a Darumaka - yeah...I don't think I'm gonna get very far either). However, what I've seen of it so far is AWESOME! I'm pretty rubbish at this type of game and have a tendency to give up when it comes to the level grinding but I'm gonna keep going with this one because, well, it's Pokémon!

Thanks for reading :)
